Tutorial: Crayon Cupcakes!

Ah so i have so much unwanted crayons left in my house from my younger age that i don't use anymore. Some of them are broken in half, some are still in pretty good shape. Its a waste to just throw them all away so i though of an idea to turn them into CRAYON CUPCAKES! Yes you heard right :] That way they could be put to use again.

I'm going to turn them into crayon cupcakes and bring
them to my churches Sunday school so the kids could enjoy them and not get a mess out of themselves when they use crayons to color.

SO here's what you will need:

-Cupcake tray
-Baking cups
-Crayons

Step one:

Place the cups inside the cupcake tray.

Step two:

Peel the paper off of the crayons and place the broken crayons inside each cup . ( About 8 - 10 Pieces per cup) Then set your oven for 300F. Bake your crayons for 10 min until melted.

Step Three:

Take tray out of oven and let it cool down then take the crayons out.

End Result:

-- The left one that looks all blue didnt turn out so well :(--

Heres what they look like in the end.
Enjoy!

You can do these in any shape or form you like :]

Tutorial: How to make your own makeup bag / pencil bag for school

Lately because of the economy i haven't been able to get a lot of things. One thing that i been looking for is a makeup bag. I can never find one that was at an affordable price and cute at the same time.(I'm pretty picky i know) So I been thinking, why should i buy a bag that i don't really like if i could just make one myself.

So here is my little tutorial on how to make your own makeup bag! I hope you like it :]

Before you do anything, heres what you will need:

1.Fabric(Any color and kind of your choice)
2.A sheer fabric(I forgot the name but the black one in the picture) OPTIONAL
3.Scissors
4.Ruler
5.Thread
6.Needle
7.Zipper (And length is fine you can always trim it off later)
8.Pen or something to mark with

Step 1:

Mark the fabric with 11 inches in length and 9 inches in width. (You can make this any size you want depending on how big you want it to be. More fabric = Bigger bag)

Step 2:

Now cut out the fabric along the lines.

Step 3:OPTIONAL

Once you have cut out your fabric, place the sheer fabric over it and cut it out a little bigger than the purple fabric. (Like the picture above)

Step 4:

Now fold the purple fabric in half and cut it. (As picture shown above)
OPTIONAL: If you used the sheer fabric cut that in half too.

Step 5:OPTIONAL

Now sew up the 2 fabrics together.(Like this below.)

The shorter sides first.

Then the other 2 longer sides and trim off the extra black sheer fabric.

Step 6:

Now turn the purple fabric to its back side ( side without the black fabric you just sewed on, this side is going to be the inside of the bag) and sew it onto the zipper as above.

Step 7:

Sew the other piece on just like the one you did in Step 6.
Now it should look like the picture above.

Step 8:

Now its time to stitch up the zipper like this so it won't open once you cut the extra length off.

You can cut the extras off and it should look like this. Don't cut too close or too far. Leave about half an inch at the end or an inch.

Step 9:

Now fold the 2 pieces of fabric together like this above and sew it together like the pic below

Step 10:

Once you finish sewing the long sides together, flatten out the fabric like this above and sew together the shorter length sides.

Step 11:

Now sew along the dotted lines i have marked in the pic above ( the stitches didn't come out so well so i had to draw it on)

End Result:

This is the end result. I personally am loving my new Makeup bag. I hope you liked yours too!
